Quick update: Garmin customer services don't do battery replacements but did, as predicted, offer me a refurbished replacement. But it's £155. Which makes a replacement, newer, device look like a more interesting option. It's a bit of an oversight, in my opinion, not to offer an affordable battery replacement service.

Battery capacity might degrade after 300-500 cycles, even more, some say 700-800. For the sake of argument, lets say 400 cycles. Divide 400 by 24, and you get 16 years of charging watch every 2 weeks. If it serves you this well 16 years, you can be happy :) So there is no reason to worry. Welcome to Garmin family.

I kept my Fenix 5 more than 4 years and resold with a battery life still good. I've owned a 6 two years and the battery was still lasting as brand new. Now with a 7 that I count to keep for years. You shouldn't worry too much about battery replacement. On smartwatches you recharge it daily or anyhow at least couple of times a week.
